I was commissioned to create some illustrations for Stern Gesund Leben (which focuses on topics around health). The illustrations were used alongside an essay on making personal resolutions.
I have included the final illustrations, rough sketches and the final magazine layout created by Stern.
I got the chance to work on an editorial piece for Genome Magazine. I really enjoy working on editorial illustrations, I find that tight deadlines and certain restrictions are a really good creative challenge. Here is the piece used on their site to accompany the article online.

I wanted to share a bit of my process when working on an assignment. I always start on paper with a pencil – as you can see in the photo I came up with 4 rough sketches, the theme was art meets science – The Spark of Life. Once a sketch / idea is approved I move onto the computer and draw up the shapes, first in monochrome then I’ll pick a colour palette and add that last.
The nights are drawing in so I thought it would be the perfect time to share my Four Favourite Films to Fall Asleep to.
It’s not that I don’t like these films but I find them all quite slow
but also soothing, I have fallen asleep to all of them at some point.
